i am using the whole post today to give this advice:

Follow Instructions...

situation 1]

you ever see someone try tearing open a ketchup packet??

 they try and try and get really really agitated? 

some give up - others go at it aggressively 

with their teeth...

ive done that myself actually.

but then i noticed the tiny fine print in an upper corner

 that said    "tear here".

so i did 

and it was success  without  effort.

i started doing that one simple thing...

i began to Follow Instructions.

situation 2]

another case in hand -

i've seen people violently attack vending machines 

that failed to function the way they were meant to...

same sorta deal...

there is a soda machine at my apartment complex

 that occasionally won't operate as it should...

there's a metal tag not much bigger than a postage stamp

placed right  on the front where the money goes -

it says:

"for service on this machine please call  [ some random 800#.. ] "

and that is exactly what i do.

it never fails...a tech shows up within 24-48 hours 

and does what needs to be done.

situation 3]

right next to any elevator door is a small plaque that instructs us

 "in case of fire use stairs" 

so just for good measure

any time i go anywhere and use the elevator to go up...?

i make sure i can locate the stairs 

and  use them - at least once -to go DOWN.
situation 4]
most of us were taught
 "know where the exits are"
so any time
i've been led thru a couple doors,
 down a winding array of halls and into a doctors  exam room
i look for exit signs....
that way i can easily find my way OUT...
on my own!

its all common sense

anymore the first thing i do when i get caught up 

in similar situations??

i look for instructions.

 that is all i have for today
