KRIKET'S KHORUS
8/8/17...10a.m.
you all know what a wingnut is....right?
it's one of the nuts and bolts in your junk drawer
that gets wound so tight you can only loosen it
by using balanced pressure, gentle but firm,
and ....patience.
well, when my firstborn son was at the peak of his years
in juvenile delinquency
he 'knighted' me
as an elder in the Wingnut Warrior clan.
i still wear the wingnut he awarded me
on a chain around my neck...
i am known to his generation,
still in this community,
as "Eli's mom"
the code of the Wingnut Warrior is simple:
"Never get wound so tight
that a little balanced pressure,
gentle but firm, can't loosen you up."
i have had many opportunities
to carry on with the responsibility
of continuing this most honored tradition.
Thank you, my precious son Eli,
for giving me the gifts of tenacity, endurance and durability.
it is with humble gratitude and fierce loyalty
that we will indeed ....carry on.
blessed be
